Change Your Xbox Live Billing Country
Microsoft do not allow users of its popular Xbox Live service to change their billing country, meaning that if they move to another country they often cannot make full use of the service they are paying for. There are numerous problems associated with moving countries with Xbox Live, and Microsoft's official response Create a new gamertag. If you're reading this, then you know starting from scratch is an unreasonable solution, and Microsoft need to resolve this admitted limitation with the billing system. An example of one of the more serious limitations with the service: "I created my gamertag when I lived in Ireland but am now living in the UK, and because the billing system doesn't allow me to change my billing country, I can't use a UK credit card. Obviously I don't have the one I had in Ireland anymore. I have to buy MS points from 3rd party online retailers and games offered via the new Games On Demand service show up in Euros, and because of the exchange rate that means I pay £5 more for a £20 game than if I could pay in my own currency." This problem, and many others like it, are incredible oversights on the part of Microsoft and a serious limitation of the billing system that lots of people feel really needs to be addressed. The bottom line is, people move countries all the time, they shouldn't be expected to start a new gamertag each time they do to make full use of the service they are paying for. This has been a problem for years and Microsoft haven't addressed it yet, a petition may be the only way to get them to take notice.
