My name is Jennifer Dixon and I am the mother of a 1 year old son who suffers from Hearing Loss. Recently I found out that our insurance company MT State Blue Cross Blue Shield does not cover Hearing exams, procedures or Hearing Aids at all. I have done research and found that only SEVEN states in the USA demand that ALL insurance companies cover hearing aids, however my state- West Virginia- does not. The cost of my sons hearing aids are $2500 EACH, and something we can NOT afford. My husband also wears hearing aids and add the 2 pairs together- and its QUITE expensive. I am trying to collect signatures to turn over to our insurance company, The WV Govenor Joe Manchin, the WV Insurance Commissioner and our local paper to try to change our laws. Hearing is a NECESSITY, NOT A LUXURY!!
