I think children that go to Christian school and children that are home schooled should be able to play sports at public school in their county.

This bill would be very dear to my heart as it would have affected me growing up. I was a child attending private school and was not able to participate in sports after I reached middle school, and was not able to play for a basketball team that was in my caliber. By the time I was mature enough to attend public schooling my sophomore year of high school, I had been out of the sports sphere for too long to jump back in and it hurt my confidence quite a bit. Not to say I didn't find other outlets but i think often about the lack of opportunity to play for sports teams growing up.

Please pass this bill! I have two athletic children who have been denied the opportunity to participate in sports in their own communities because they attended Christian school.
There are few recreational opportunities in Southern West Virginia and many lonely youth turn to drug abuse. I can't imagine why any adult would deny a child the opportunity to participate in sports especially given the obesity epidemic in our state.

The SSAC should not have the power to dictate whether or not my children play public school sports.
