Given there have been several instances where there have been multiple calls at the same time, I don’t feel the officers should have to use their personal vehicles. If both cars are fully paid for, isn’t the officer’s and community’s safety worth the minimal cost to keep both cars?

It amazes me that anyone would want to handicap our police officers by selling our second car but are willing to blow oodles of money on items that while improve the look of the town are in the end unnecessary.

Please keep the second car for WPD! Just remember, if you don't and something goes wrong then it's your fault!

You need to keep the second police car in Westfield, PA. If one car breaks down they will need to get to the situation faster, coming from Mansfield takes to long which would result maybe a not to good ending! Keep the second car!!

Keep the car why would you sell it when it is paid for anyway it is needed in our community for our police officers to better do their duties to keep it safe. As a taxpayer in this little community I believe the police officers should be ask what they need to be able to do their jobs and be able to do it safely.

This seems small but having a back up seems like a deterrent for criminals. If we're being honest there is a huge drug problem in the area and taking away resources from law enforcement is not the answer.

Our police department need to keep the second car. Not having a second patrol car is putting our officers and citizens at risk. The car is paid for. The upkeep is likely minimal. What you will get at auction isn't nearly as valuable as the added protection of our officers. It's a tool that is needed so they can properly perform their job. Westfield isn't Mayberry anymore. It's a drug infested, low income, crime riddled town. And both of our full time officers should have access to a proper police vehicle. Not only for our town, but for surrounding towns when they are in need of assistance.

I have seen the second car used in many occasions. From backing up the on duty officer to taking a second call while the on duty officer is taking another call. The police dept uses the second car to help with traffic control during events in Westfield also. We the residents of Westfield need to stand up for our OFFICERS IN BLUE!

Agree that the extra car should be kept so that in case you need it for when one breaks down. Special events when you have more than one officer working. Visibility of crime prevention as when people see a car they tend to slow down through town as well.
