My professional career is deeply indebted to the professional colleagues at the BR/KB, IRPA/KIK and other museums of Belgium, notably the MSK Ghent, MSK Antwerpen, and MRBA Bruxelles. Ultimately these connections have allowed me to bring the treasures of Belgium to a broader audience in the U.S.

Until prime ministries and parliamentarians are ready to work at minimum wage to save money for the state, they have no moral right to remove money from the preservation of Europe's precious cultural heritage

Belgian archives and ancien or medieval art are part of the European heritage. Its memory must be preserved by the governments for the young and future generations as they are not proprietors but only transmitters.

Museums and Galleries are my main reason for visiting Belgium (which I have done probably six or eight times in the past few years).

Belgian heritage is also European heritage, and cutting in it is cutting i the heart of Europe. The damages caused by this are much greater than the savings. How to behave towards your culture alway means finally: how to behave towards human beings. So, this item is concerning humanity. And facing the worldwide conflicts in our neighbourhood, Europe will need its moral strength bitterly. I'm getting afraid, seeing not only the edges, but also the heart of Europe becoming so self-forgotten.

Belgium has some of the world's greatest art treasures. Please make them a national priority for generations to come.

For us all that have worked all our lives in Museums, Cultural Heritage and Conservation institutions throughout the world, IRPA is a fundamental reference in the fields of researchand training. Research institutionsdo play a crucial role in society, on the production and dissemination of kowledge.
