This is completely unfair. I went through the exact same thing in my district and it still makes me angry. Why are we punishing people for starting families?? Fix this SC!!

I agree. Teachers have a tremendous influence on the development of our future leaders and citizens and should be recognized and reward for their dedication.

The exact thing happened to me. I am missed a step when I had my son Jake and am also a year behind. Being penalized for this seems wrong. So proud of you Elizabeth! Be the change, sister!

This teacher should have been allowed to teach summer school or extra district PD to make up these days.

This is a ridiculous policy! South Carolina you are at the bottom of the barrel as far as education goes. You should pay your teachers more and change this antiquated policy.

So wrong. Where’s the common sense? No teacher should in any way be penalized for having a child. This is wrong and needs to be corrected
