I use this pool a lot and would hate for it to be closed.

Most drownings occur within 6 feet of safety, one of the major reasons that people drown is that they cannot swim just 6 feet - outrageous! The demand for swimming in this county is massive - swimming lessons are over subscribed, swimming clubs are over subscribed, lifesaving clubs are over subscribed - what does that tell you about what the people of this county want? Obesity leading to diabetes is on the rise, we need more facilities like this not less. Our city is growing, we have a fabulous university with a growing reputation for sporting achievements, lets make Worcester the 'go to' place, not he go past place fore swimming.

We need at least one compitition standard pool in the county, eight lane flat deck with plenty of room for swimmers poolside as well as previsions for spectators.

Swimming is a mass participation sport and should be encouraged at boht a competitive and a social level. The existing infrastucture acorss the county ofr swimming is inadequte in terms of pool time and having to travel outside the county to have competitive galas will not encourage families to get their kids to take part. An 8 lane pool would show the city's commitment to sport in the same way that the Hive showcases the importance of culture.

Current plans do not meet the county's need and are short sighted

Worcester really needs a highly developed swimming and leisure centre to meet the demand for advanced sports facilities in the district to accomodate the forcasted growth in the areas population and housing plans, a well designed centre would encourage newcomers to the sport and improve overall health and well being.

The benefits of swimming reach all age groups in the community for both recreation and competitions, City of Hereford Swimming Club are in full support of this proposal.

Make swimming more accessible to everyone locally. A competition pool would bring unlimited benefits with only a small increase in cost.
