Woodlands Alumnae Need Answers

I think this is going to end up being a devasting loss for the Woodlands community. She hasn't had the pleasure to know Mrs. Marko the way many of us girls do. She has never had a horrific experience that was only solved by this wonderful, amazing, beautiful, inside and out, woman... Hopefully the reconsider.

Please think of the boarding girls when you make this decision. I really needed Mrs. Marko when I lived in the boarding school. That means no medical care for the girls that live at Woodlands.

Class of 1999

The formative years of a young woman are shaped by friends, families, teachers, and leaders who model the behavior that exemplify the women we hope to become. Mrs. Marko put the care and understanding of people - who they were, what they were going through, how they felt - above all other things. She taught us Empathy. She modeled Empathy. She showed us Empathy. In today's world, a world filled with so much sadness and terror, I do not think there is a greater gift to give our young female leaders of both today and tomorrow. They can only model truly caring and kind behavior if they know what it looks like. Mrs. Marko role modeled what this looked like many years ago and I can genuinely say I would not be who I am without her in my life at Woodlands. It would be a shame to deprive that to our current young women of WA.

I agree that Mrs. Marko's work at Woodlands is essential to the institution and the adolescent women it serves. It doesn't make any sense to cut out her position.

My only request is that this situation be rectified to Mrs. Marko's standards. She deserved/deserves better.

I don't understand this - this is more than a shame. Just devastating....

Mrs. M was a ray of kindness and warmth during my high school years. Please treat her with the same love and kindness she showed us- either by offering alternative options for remaining within the woodlands family; or by taking care of her financially with a generous package.

Marsha Marko is a true embodiment of Sacred Heart values that Woodlands seeks to instill in every girl who walks through those doors. To eliminate a position and thereby terminate a woman whose life has been dedicated to helping foster independent confident young women goes against the very goals and values that the Sacred Heart was founded upon. I would much rather future students of Woodlands benefit from the wisdom of Marsha Marko than enjoy a new "walking path"

Proving a school nurse and advocate for the health of the students is vital to any educational community. Mrs. Marko has dedicated years of service to the Woodlands Academy community and should remain in her position as a nurse, counselor and advisor. Please reconsider her termination as her position serves the needs of the community and has a longer term positive impact where as irrational budget cuts do not.

Class of 98

Mrs. Marko was not only the school nurse she was someone who students could go to and talk about there problems. Such has eating disordes and she helped so many young girls in the years she has been there. I find it so sad that Woodlands would get rid of such an important role model to young girls.
