Woodland Park is a great place for family and friends to gather. Unfortunately the playground area is in need of some TLC. We would like to gather signatures and support to present to the City of Columbia in hopes that our voices are heard. We would like to request a new safe 'pour & play' surface be installed under the play structure. At the very least we would like the woodchips freshened so they meet the 9" safety depth (as suggested by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission-Public Playground Safety Handbook). It would also be wonderful to have a toddler structure installed as the current equipment is not suitable for children under the age of four. An adaptive swing and/or play structure would also round out the area making it a suitable place for all. Please help us spread the word to make Woodland Park the best possible place to play for everyone!

The City of Columbia continues to ignore my emails while our kids keep playing on dangerous, rotting equipment. We are not going away quietly until they commit to the safety upgrades this park demands.

The City of Columbia officials are finally starting to feel the heat because of this massive wave of support. We are not backing down until they stop neglecting our kids and fix this dangerous playground.

I grew up in this park and now being my nieces in nephews here! One of which has cerebral palsy and these updates would really help them all to play easily!
I love this park but I don't come very often because it's not safe enough for my two year old.
I agree - I'd love for my toddlers to be able to play in this park now, not in 2 or 3 years! Also, we need more than two baby swings!!
I have been raised in this park and as my toddlers have gotten older, I've been more inclined to take them to nicer parks farther away from my house simply because they are better maintained. I'd love to see a little bit of life in the park once again!
Would love to see Woodland Park upgraded. Bathrooms are a necessity. A splash pad would be nice as well.
