It is a Swansboro High School tradition to host a Womanless Beauty Pageant to raise money for Project Graduation. Project Graduation is an opportunity for graduating seniors to attend a post-ceremony celebration in a safe and supervised manner, but these activities require funds. The Womanless Beauty Pageant is a fun, harmless, and comical fundraiser to benefit our senior students and it's program should not be removed. Students have signed up to participate and still are attempting to sign up, but how can they contribute to the cause if there is no Pageant?

It's a student event, proactive (student's trying to earn their own funds) and will create fun memories for the seniors. So why can't they?

I've had 2 sons participate in this event, it has become somewhat of a tradition. I'd hate to see it come to an end. What would be next.

Though I never attended during high school I loved to see the excitement on everyone's face planning to be in or attend it. It'd be a shame to not have it due to a few bad or angry seeds.

Those of us that are seniors now have watched this event take place for years, awaiting our turn to participate. This is yet another one of the senior activities that make our year memorable. Please don't take it away.

This has long been a tradition at the high school. When I was a student the pageant was done during homecoming week festivities...bon fire, tailgate party, etc none of which is done anymore. Lets give these kids fun activities & let them know that it's ok to have fun in the school environment

In this day and age of so much violence these kids need to have their time to have fun and bring laughter to all of us! These kids are not asking for the moon but just an evening that will help fund their Project Graduation, let them have this one evening!!!
