[Resolved] Witt Stands Against Animal Cruelty -- Donkey Basketball

This is so disgusting... .What organizations are hosting this?!

Many schools have banned donkey ball from their campus for the reasons cited in this petition.

Can't believe this is a thing at Witt.

We don't need more reasons to give animals sports injuries.

I am not participating in the event as well as advising others not to. This would be considered animal cruelty and I'm sure the University doesn't see all the things that could go wrong. This is unsafe for students as well as the donkeys.

Come on Witt. Do better

Seems really unnecessary when students can just... play basketball normally? Or even if people want to put a different, unique spin on a basketball game, there are certainly better ways to do it.

I'm concerned that this event is a safety risk for both the students and animals involved. It seems a poor idea.

I'm glad to sign this petition and I do think Wittenberg-affiliated people should exercise careful deliberation about bringing animals to campus for recreational events. As Ian Lupica's message states explicitly, animals are placed under significant stress by traveling long distances to campus, and this occurs also with one other popular campus event I can think of.
