Withhold rent or receive proportionate discount due to failure of basic amenities in Cranbourne House
Final supporters
Works undertaken week commencing 6th November have not fixed the issue and should have been basic work carried out prior to our arrival.
A number of other issues are frequently brought up too, including;
Rat infestation on premises surrounding bin and smoking area.
Faulty lifts and electric doors.
Extortionate key replacement prices in comparison to other halls of residence.
Constant faults with laundry and machines frequently broken meaning the 500 residents are barely able to wash clothes adequately.
We as a student body and as tenants deserve a lot better. With a minimum rent of £5,333.69 (per 41 week contract) these basic issues should not be arising.

Everything stated is accurate in reguards to the state of cranborne house from my experience & has been and is inconvenient. I'd like to add: faulty bathroom rails which fall off if you touch them and silver fish infestation in the higher up flats.
My hot water was working until they tried to 'fix' it, now it's not working which has been for over a week. Someone came to check the showers and only checked the room that is unoccupied. No ventilation in the kitchen which was said was going to be fixed.
I agree, I have had no heating in my room for the past 8 weeks, it is ridiculous that we have to pay the full amount for this poor service.
My son is living here and these appalling conditions should be sorted out immediately. He is in a room that is so hot he has to have window open and a fan on permanently. He can hardly ever get his washing done as machines always broken. Asusual the fat cats looking after themselves.
Absolute disgrace to charge such high prices when the quality is so poor. Heaters not working, showers playing up, no heat detectors in the kitchens which is now a legal requirement to the NIC IEC 17th edition especially in student accommodation .
Disgusting!!
Not good enough. Show the students some respect.

I will not pay full rent for an inadequate, unsanitary quality of living beyond my control.
