Withhold rent or receive proportionate discount due to failure of basic amenities in Cranbourne House
We are now over 8 weeks into our contract at Cranbourne House. So far there have been constant issues with showers and water pressure, mainly the absence of hot water for days/weeks upon end.
Works undertaken week commencing 6th November have not fixed the issue and should have been basic work carried out prior to our arrival.
A number of other issues are frequently brought up too, including;
Rat infestation on premises surrounding bin and smoking area.
Faulty lifts and electric doors.
Extortionate key replacement prices in comparison to other halls of residence.
Constant faults with laundry and machines frequently broken meaning the 500 residents are barely able to wash clothes adequately.
We as a student body and as tenants deserve a lot better. With a minimum rent of £5,333.69 (per 41 week contract) these basic issues should not be arising.
