Really bad idea. If anything this should be converted to additional park land.

Don't need another downtown hotel causing more traffic congestion and degrading this residential street. Vote "NO"

Plans must be thoroughly thought out when it comes to impact for residents; this is often not the case. So far, I have seen development which is not thought out concerning location, parking and allowing for adequate green space. I fear this city will lose its character, and be just another city with box stores and square buildings built right up to the sidewalk.

There obviously has been no traffic study done and environmental impact study.

please defer to planning commission to further study before a quick decision is made.
Tax payers not tourist should be main focus of council.

This is a key, historic plot at a strategic cross roads where two vibrant neighborhoods meet. It's a rare opportunity and we can do much better than a one-star motel, which will nudge the area in exactly the wrong direction.

The City often says that the purpose of using Planned Unit Development is to have a development that would be better than what could be built by-right. By overriding the Planning Commission's recommendations this is clearly not the case. For the life of me I cannot understanding why anyone would serve on that Commission since its opinions and that of the BAR are frequently ignored. Has Southern Development ever not gotten what it wanted from City Council?

This land should be used to benefit the citizens of Charlottesville, not tourists.
