Background: The Wildernest Subdivision was formed approximately 35 years ago. At that time architectural guidelines were established to control the design, colors and materials for the construction of individual homes and condominiums in the Subdivision. Buffalo Mountain Metro District (BMMD) was formed to provide the water, sanitary sewer, road maintenance, and snow removal services. The responsibility of enforcing the architectural guidelines was also given to BMMD. It appears the guidelines have not been updated since 1995. Given the age of the Wildernest structures, significant renovations and/or maintenance to many of the properties have or will soon be considered by the property owners. Currently the Wildernest Architectural Guidelines for building exteriors do not take into account recent advancements in building material technology (examples being sustainability, "green" qualities, and fire resistive properties). Petition: We, the undersigned, request the Buffalo Mountain Metro District to immediately form a committee made up of Board Members and property owners to review and update the Wildernest Architectural Guidelines and to take into account recent advancements in building materials that provide fire resistive construction, are environmentally friendly, and require less maintenance than many traditional building materials.
