BEAR feeding ordinance

There is enough natural food in the woods for these wild animals..people forget that they are wild and are not pets

I agree that we need to do something. Enforcement is going to be the challenge.

I agree with what this woman is doing. Someone is going to get hurt humans or bears, It’s a very bad thing to keep letting them feed the wild bears.

I live in Avon and completely agree.

I think this should also be state wide. This is the time of year when there is an abundance of NATURAL food available and no REASON for these animals to be supplemented.

Keep wildlife wild

I think this is a great idea. & hopefully it'll prevent future attacks & tragedies. I believe it's at fault of people of feeding the wildlife & that's why they are making their appearance more often now because they know that there's gonna be food left out for them.

This is a much needed proposal.

Our town can set the pace for the state. This needs to go further, but lets start here and now!

as an animal control officer I see way too many bears and other wildlife be dispatched (killed) because they become too human friendly. PLEASE pass this so other towns and states will see its not right.

Way too many conflicts between humans and wildlife come from those who "care" about them and feed them. The reality is that it should be called BAITING them and setting them up for failure to survive. PLEASE support the ban and save the wildlings from being killed because a few have taught them to look to humans for food.

Totally support this! If one loves animals, this just makes sense!

Something needs to be done! My neighbor’s garage door was torn apart by a bear trying to get in to get to their garbage can. She did everything she was told to yet it didn’t stop the bear. If a bear is willing to tear a garage door apart to get inside to get the garbage, what will stop them from breaking an entry or sliding glass door to get into a house?

The only problem with this is Bears cant read.

We put our garbage cans in the garage because ammonia and bleach don't work any longer and then a neighbors garage was severly damage by a bear trying to get in. My dogs have chased them into the street. Feedings need to stop before someone gets seriously injured!

A fed bear is a dead bear.

Something needs to be done to stop people feeding these bears. They are becoming a nuisance and have now destroyed my property! Not ok!!
