The gift of reading is a tremendous gift. Every town should have a library and an easily accessible one - a quiet refuge for those who wish to read, study or just be quiet. Don't throw this away.

I am a volunteer at the book festival and also set up the reading group in Wigtown 9 years ago. I value and have greatly benefirred from the library service and would want it tto continue in its present from in Wigtown

Who is it who comes up with these crazy policies. Surely, at the end of the day, there must be other areas where cuts can be made, which would not have such a devastating effect on the local community.

A library is a vital service for all the community which gives all the population a chance to either read books which they may not be able to afford to buy and an important place for information. As Wigtown is Scotlands National book town it would be a disgrace to cut the hours of opening.

Come on council-this is Scotland's National Book Town- people come from all over the world to visit. Cutting the opening tomes so drastically, is just plain crazy !!!!
