Quite recently the district has turned off the guest wifi and BYOD wifi for students. This has been extremely problematic for students of all ages and grades. There are so many things that phones can do that our Macbooks simply cannot with all the restrictions that have been placed on them. Students who are trying to arrange an afterschool ride or text a parent about an assignment can no longer do that due to lack of cellular connection. Students who want to use their phone during passing periods or at lunch can no longer do that. Bringing back the students wifi for the district would benefit many of the districts students and create a happer environment.

The stories coming in from students about the daily challenges caused by this restricted connectivity confirm that this is a widespread concern. I am currently organizing these experiences to present them formally to the administration during our upcoming review. Your willingness to bring these frustrations into the open provides the necessary weight for that conversation.

Reaching this current level of engagement shows that the frustration many of us feel is widely shared across the district. It is meaningful to see so many families and students acknowledge that these connectivity barriers affect our daily school experience. This momentum suggests that a productive conversation about our technology policies is finally becoming necessary.

Seriously? How am I supposed to talk to my parents about practice times?? Ridiculous.
bruh just give us the wifi password already
i’m just trynna text my mom to pick me up from school but i can’t bc of the internet i don’t have servis. they have money to get whole ass vape dectors but not wifi.
its ridiculous that we cant have wifi, sometimes we may need to text parents or people and we cant do that when we dont have reception because there is no wifi
We need this back fully! Y’all said that we can use our phones at lunch, well.... we can’t because we have so signal so we can’t play on our phone. This is unacceptable...
