The historical barges are our heritage and should ptotected, not be pennalised the canals need sorting, many of the waterways are unfit for use by these often historic boats causing them to run a ground, put our own house in order, historic cars pay no road tax and very little insurance how can you justify penalizing our historic barges,

Widebeam should not have an increase on fees - if anything a rebate proportionate to the mileage of waterways that are inaccessible.

They will end up with no boats if they carry on just putting up price's

Why are we the ones to pay the cost for others to use the system that a wide beam cannot even navigate ? And still no address on constant cruisers over staying or not travelling required mileage? Seems pick on easy target and ignore the real problems !!

It’s outrageous that an owner of a wider boat should pay more. For one thing we have less access to the network and so get less use of the infrastructure.

You are supposed to be a trust, start acting like one, stop selling off assets and pricing people off the waterways

We can't use mist of the network, and take up less square footage than some longer narrow boats. Ask real boaters opinions

Can't use the whole network so why pay more - what is the reason ?

Historic boats MUST be kept on our waterways

Completely unfair penalisation of historic boats, especially since CRT diesn’t maintain adequate depth of water to allow them to use more than a tiny fraction of the network.

Shouldn't be penalised for having a wider boat. We already pay our dues like everyone else

I can't see how the beam of a vessel affects anything apart from restricted use of the waterways! Length yes as it take's up more mooring space.

Are you trying to force people off the waterways?

All wide beam canals are not maintained to wide beam standard . Only draft for narrow beam craft why should I pay more.

Using the length and only three wide bands is unfair. Much better to use length and a sliding scale for the width of the vessel.

So unfair to pay hire fees when we can’t use the whole system

A disproportionate charge for a restricted use of the system.

Why should I pay for less. No milage in wide beam not enough draft , unmanned tidal locks. Ect. Ect . Ect.

I had no chance to add my comments to the consultation, though I very much doubt that even if every widebeam owner on the network commented that they felt an increase was unjust it would have changed the outcome of this “consultation” anyway. I can use about 5% of the network and most of what I can use is not even under CRT jurisdiction. Even my previous widebeam was seriously restricted. A complete farce, but totally unexpected!
