A Vote on Trans Women Joining Women's Institutes

To quote the WI website - Therefore, the WI is set up as an educational charity with a constitution which states that membership is only open to women.

Womens Institute. The clue is in the name. I will not be renewing my membership if this change goes through.

Women need and deserve spaces/clubs/institutes etc that are guaranteed free of male intrusion and influence. You are also forcing women to accept and validate a gender ideology the majority of whom do not agree with or believe in (you cannot change your biological sex). You are not Big Brother, you cannot force people to think what you want them to think.

I hope this is successful; it is not hateful for women to want their own spaces.

I would rather join an organisation called the men and women's institute than one called the women's institute, wh8ch allows men who feel like they are women to join.

My wife will not join the WI because it currently welcomes trans-identifying men.

Of course WI membership should be based on sex, not gender! Why shouldn't women be allowed to have female-only clubs, meeting places and so on?

The Women’s Institute if for women. Not men. Trans Identifying Males are men. They change the dynamic of the groups to ensure the focus is on them and their interests. It’s ridiculous.

Transwomen are men. We all know this. And you are the Wowen's Institute.

Men of any strip have no place in the WOMEN'S institute.

I would not consider joining any organisation for women, that allows men to join too.

You need to debate this robustly and realise that soon you will be having obviously men who say they are women under self ID, and this is totally untenable.

For the women's institute to put men's wants above women's needs is NOT FIT for purpose.

No man is a woman women fought for over a century for their own rights and now men are oppressing us again , reject this gender identity cult

WI will become MI and women will leave and be alienated once more. Why cant they start their own movement? Im so sick of men taking over.

I would love to join but your stance on this is stopping me as I was a space for natal women esp. in discussions make violence etc.

WI members deserve the right to have their voices heard. We’ve all fought for many years for this basic right.

WI is making female-only spaces uncomfortable by allowing males who think they are women to enter women's groups. If this is a mixed sex group, be honest. I won't join while you allow men in.
