I'm a woman. I was born female, grew up as a girl and made it to adulthood and therefore womanhood. Those born with a penis, like my father and sons are not women. You are doing yourselves a disservice by including men in a women's organisation. And that's the reason I cancelled my membership of WI. You are there to provide a space for adult human females, to meet, learn, and discuss issues that affect women, not men.

I am of the age group where I have considered joining, but not while they have got this policy. It makes a mockery of your whole reason to exist. Just more erasure of Women.

WI is for women. Women are adult human females. Trans women are adult human males, therefore have no place in the WI. Your organisation has let biological women down.

Trying to distinguish between cross dressers and trans women is just Impossible because nobody can say what 'living as a woman' means without resorting to stereotypes. Do you want to encourage gender stereotypes? That doesn't fit with encouraging gender non conforming people. I have never really conformed to gender stereotypes because I reject them. Nobody should be encouraging the idea that you are born in the wrong body as it leads on to surgery on healthy body parts because of mental and emotional distress. Children (including me as a child) are told they have a male brain in a women's body because they don't conform to stereotypes. Can you see the awful contradiction there?

Had been thinking about joining as recently reduced my work hrs and had always hoped to join. If it is no longer a Women’s (protected) space after spending my entire life in male dominated spaces at work and leisure having to tolerate unacceptable male aggression in its various forms, there would be no point in joining the WI.

Women need female only spaces away from biological males, including within women's organisations that are supposed to be for women. That's not bigotry. Men have their own clubs and groups, as do transwomen. The destruction of women's organisations and spaces is misogyny.

I was about to join the WI - but I have changed my mind. If the organisation is in the grip of gender idiology, it is no longer for women, which defeats the whole point of it

I wanted to join recently, but as the WI is no longer just for women, I am not interested. utterly disappointed in the 2021 Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Policy. The Trans movement is deeply misogynistic and against Women's rights and the safe-guarding of children. The WI should be ashamed of itself!!!

Only men can be 'transwomen' meaning that the WI will no longer be a women's institute. Women deserve spaces and organisations specifically for women.
