Transwomen are men. Women are Adult Human Females. Any other claim is an ideological, faith-based assertion. The WI is an organisation for women. Any decision about inviting men (how ever they identify, sex does not change) into the organisation should be made by the members after extensive, open, consultation.

Women's Institutes need to be able to discuss and defend women-specific issues. This is impossible if they have to include men, however these men identify. Those who respect women will understand this.

I support this petition although I am a trans woman. I think that the current trans activist movement that are forcing organisations such as the WI to adopt blanket "inclusion" policies such as this are not acting in the best interests of women or trans people. Should I ever wish to join the WI I would rather be judged on individual merit, not because the WI thought it had to. Good luck!
