We the undersigned students in the MA in Applied Theatre Program are petitioning CUNY SPS to provide reliable Wi-Fi service for use in the classrooms at 101 West 31st Street. Many of the students use tablets, and other devices that require a Wi-Fi connection to work properly during class time.So often our classes meet on weekends, including Sundays when the facilities at 119 West 31st Street are unavailable.Additionally, many of us need to do research during class which also requires access to the internet.

Technology fees this semester were $77.50.

Although we appreciate when we are able to use the facilities at 119 West 31st street, most of our classes meet at 101 West 31st and we feel that some of the money we pay towards the technology fee should be allotted towards reliable Wi-Fi.

We make this request in order to strengthen the practical usage of otherwise good facilities of a well-loved and strong program.

Reaching this level of visibility confirms that the frustration with our classroom internet access is widespread. It is exhausting to fight for basic resources while we are paying these fees. We are keeping the pressure on the administration until they finally acknowledge the reality of our situation.

Fix this! We need internet to show our work and look things up. My data plan is suffering enough already.

Ridiculous that we are paying these fees and cant even get a stable connection for class. It makes research impossible when we're at the 31st street site.
