The freedom of the press is a cornerstone for good governance and democracy. The Newspaper was exactly doing the right thing in educating the public the alleged corruption cases as published by the Sentry Advocacy group. I call on the government of South Sudan lift the ban of the newspaper so that the managers can resume its normal operations within the media rules and regulations of South Sudan.

Freedom of speech is very important to every nation. Suppressing media freedom is very dangerous to development of democracy in Africa

For us to be free, our lips should'nt be stitched with bullets. We are a vocal society and for it, we sacrificed two and half millions of our compatriots. Stop gagging us from freedom of speech!

The nation mirror only could give the public the truth glimpses of their affairs, it has to start running.

A free and independent media is a must in any democratic society, media houses should never be shut by executive fiat which will amount to executive recklessness and impunity. The South Sudanese authorities should immediately reopen the Nation Mirror newspaper. If it has committed any offence, the authorities should seek remedy in court.

For a "new" and young country South Sudan certainly has some outmoded attitudes towards freedom of expression and other salient human rights. Seems to me like the authorities are caught up in a perpetual state of war and have made the citizenry enemy combatants.

This must stop. The media stands for the people so therefore, free expression must be protected and given to the media

The closure is an attack on free expression. It must be opposed by all progressive and democratic forces.

Freedom of expression is a fundamental right with prominence to educating citizenry in this circumstance. Simply unlawful!!!!!!! and certainly brutal to deny the people the right to knowledge of the atrocities and misconducts of government officials persisting in Sudan, how can the nation move on if these necessary exposures as these are not exposed and put to scrutiny by the masses.i believe it serves as a learning curve to significant others to sit up.Rather preposterous an act. THE MEDIA SHOULD HAVE ITS INDEPENDENCY .the authorities are clueless ,they should reinstate the newspaper to get on with the good work they have embarked since.
