So recently the Ministry of Education would've put out a memo in favour of International Women's Day, stating that female teachers and learners will be given that day to practice "hair freedom".

Why just one day? Most of the hairstyles that are deemed acceptable are damaging to natural hair. Not only that, hairstyles DO NOT inhibit a student's ability to learn, whether male or female.

I'm hoping to be able to have this petition reach the Ministry of Education.

This policy is stuck in the past. Let the students wear their natural hair everyday and stop acting like it messes with their grades.

Black girls and women should enjoy the same freedoms to wear their hair like everyone else and everyday.

I think that persons should be able to wear their own hair in whatever fashion they choose. One's manner of hairstyle does not affect or influence their ability to learn or to teach, this is an archaic colonial practice that we have latched on to.
