Water is a natural resource needed very much to promote the survival and substance of human life, given to us freely from the Lord himself. According to Green facts.com, the world’s water exists naturally in different forms and locations: In the air, on the surface, below the ground, and in the oceans. So why is it that some of us have to pay for it. How can you charge somebody for something that is natural, so abundant, and from the Earth? There are places in this very state of New Jersey that charge their residents for this natural resource. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Unlike Public Service, the water company in Burlington City does not even offer orhave some type of assistance for customers who are single parents and are living under the poverty level. I work and pay taxes, why can't my tax dollars be used for this?I am a single parent mother of six who have presently become a victim of water bill washout. The house I live in now has a current water bill of $800.00. Isn’t this an outrageous bill for water? Some people pay that much for rent. How do you regulate the price of water? I wash my children’s clothes in my washing machine, cook dinner, take baths and/or showers, and use the bathroom every day. Yes, flushing the toilet and washing your body costs money. Children are unpredictable and water is something that is needed on a regular basis for my family and others like it.

Therefore, I set out to ask for anyone with a heart to help me petition the governor, the mayor, and anybody who can help make water FREE or create a program that is designed to provide ASSISTANCE in paying for the water of single parent mothers, senior citizens, and anyone living in poverty and low income housing. Your signature can have a voice and help make things better not just for me and my children but for thousands of other Burlington county residents who are going through the same situation.
