We the undersigned do not think it is in the interest of visitors, residents  or workers at, The Abel Point Marina in The Whitsundays to be charged a parking fee of $8 per 12 hour day. Furthermore we admonish Tourism Whitsundays for their 'no show' in defending the interests of the visitors and workers affected by this action. Our Town relies heavily on the Backpacker and Camper communities and this action will reverberate in their circles to the extent that future Backpackers and Campers will opt for Cairns as an alternative departure point for reef visits, rather than visit a town where the powers to be seem to be finding ways to drive our valuable visitors away.
