Whitefields Estate Relocation Objection
As secure tenants of the Whitefields Estate we have a right to object to all or parts of the relocation. Any objections need to made by 28th May 2015. Please sign below to show that you object to all or parts of the process.
Following Anthony Collin Solicitors' meeting on the 25th April 2015 it become clear that we WILL lose:
• Our Secure Tenancy Agreements, as we will be moved to the Housing Association where the contracts are Assured Tenancy which means we NO longer have the 'secure tenancy'.
• With the Housing Association we will payHIGHER RENTS and SERVICE CHARGES – we can negotiate to keep them at the level they are at the moment
• We will LOSE the Right to Buy
• We will lose the Right to Succession, which means that if something bad happens to you, your children will not succeed the property and become homeless.
• We have the right to object to the location of the Living Bridge, which is going to be build where our properties are at the moment.
• We can object the fact that we need to be moved to Hosing Association. We can demand our landlord to be Barnet Homes
• Our new homes probably are going to be built on a contaminated land – We have rights to object this.
• The project is damaging for the environment, as it will expose the whole neighbourhood to pollution, noise and excessive traffic. The River Brent will be diverted and parking charges are going to be introduced to the extended Brent Cross Shopping Centre.
• If you decide to object, do it well before 28th May 2015.
• This is the only moment to negotiate with the council what our demands are and to protect our rights as secure tenants. If we don't OBJECT the way the regeneration is going to be delivered, the project will go ahead and we will lose our rights.
