Any pensioner receiving council tax benefit and earning around 12000pds have seen any pension increase they have received over the last 4 years,disappear by way of a reduction in benefits.My 50pds pm benefit is now down to 13pds pm and will completely disappear when the pension increases in April.Effectively the worse off pensioners have subsidized local councils in this way whereas the better off ones have either spent or saved their pension increases. I cannot get the government to respond to me on this subject.Council tax benefit is accessed based on income, and the larger the income the smaller the benefit.
