The fact is most of the Big Island population is on the Hilo side. Costco has nothing to lose. They still get all the visitors in Kona, but would gain all the Hilo residents.

It's not like COSTCO to overlook a good opportunity like serving the people of Hilo, Hawaii and the surrounding communities. I especially appreciate that they are now in the lead for food store sales of organic which means we get better quality foods at much lower prices. And $2 pizza slice, can't go wrong. Their tire prices are great and many things can be ordered online and picked up in the store. It would be a win/win for Hilo.
