It’s a waste of gas for Hilo residents have to drive to Kona. The proportionally larger population of Hilo will more than support being served by a much needed Costco store here.

As a former co-worker of Craig Jelenik, I wish he would realize the need and viability of a Costco location on the East side of The Big Island. Tourists if Kona don’t stay through the year as residents of eastern Big Island do. Many more residents here than tourists there.

It seems to be a no brainer knowing the population of the east side of the Big Island.

The numbers are there but they may also go by the wealth of the population. Any come on Costco, we will flock to a Hilo/Puna district store. Also I was hesitant to sign because of the impact on all business’ here and there.

Yes a Costco on the Hilo side would be a great addition to our neighborhood. Please let's make it happen.

It's a no-brainer. Costco's upper management would be absolute fools NOT to tap into the Big Island's flourishing eastside market.

I'm too old to drive over and back but I don't want to lose my membership. A store on Hilo side would be very beneficial to many like me

Agree that a Costco on this side would be most beneficial

Gas is way to expensive to drive this far to shop. And timing the barge shipments can make or break your shopping experience. Used to be Wednesday for mainland goods. Now it's?? Thursday or Friday??? Hate when you go on the wrong day and waste all that gas. I used to call and ask if the mainland goods came but now they get mad if I call. So I have to gamble my gas money on will I fill my shopping list or not. Really! How about catering to the needs of the locals and not the tourists here. MAHALO

When I lived on the mainland I lived close to a costco and I would go twice a week. Now it costs me $100 in gas to drive to Kona and its a drag when they say we don't have Lettuce or something else today but it'll be here tomorrow. So I can spend another $100 on gas to come back tomorrow. I'm beginning to realize that if I have to finish my shopping list in Hilo why did I spend $100 to go to Costco. Your losing customers because gas and time are too expensive.

You say you are just fine that I spend $100 in gas that you are happy to fill me up at your gas station and $300 on a room because you are so far away...because I am will to do that for you. NO!!! I AM NOT!!!! I DON'T SHOP YOU. WHY WOULD I SPEND $100 FORGAS TO SHOP AT A STORE THAT TAKES ME ALL DAY TO GET THERE??? NO SAVINGS AND INCONVENIENT. NOT TO MENTION MEMBERSHIP FEE FOR NON USE.
