It's ludicrous to use boxes....every windy day...and there. are many....the boxes are strewn over roads and pavements. Totally unsuitable for anyone with a disability.

We do this in South Australia. It can be done in East Lothian if you have the depot to sort out the recycling. The wheelie bins are collected like the refuse ones. PS I still have a vote in UK.

I fully support this request. The wind is a problem. The weight of carrying the boxes to the collection point is a problem. The covers are damaged - usually by cigarette burns - allowing water to add to the weight of the boxes. Recycling needs to be made the easy option for everyone.

Being a corner house in a cul de sack I am fed up picking up other people's recycling on bad weather days which can be very often.
The small boxes we have in Musselburgh are not big enough, I have 3 each paper and plastic which takes up a lot of room, a wheelie bin would solve these problems

Boxes flying about the roads in the wind with rubbish escaping everywhere is both an environmental and safely hazard. It’s totally ridiculous that we are one if the few areas left that still use these useless boxes

The boxes are far too small and they end up blown all over the road. I've had to stop the car a few times to move other people's boxes out of the way.
