I add my name to this petition, seeking Whatcom County Council and Washington Department of Natural Resources to support the Lake Whatcom Reconveyance. I believe the land in question is better suited as parklands, than as timberlands. As parkland the land can be managed to protect our drinking water and wildlife. I believe that parks and trails close to our communities help attract sustainable tourism and employers who want a healthy/balanced work force. After all, it is the high quality of life that attracts and keeps talented people in Whatcom County.

the lake is the heart of bellingham. stop the clear cutting now.
Yes!!! We need more trails and less logging in our backyard. Keep the woods for the families not the timber companies.
Protect our drinking water. It should be the top priority over profit.
Keep the water clean. It is our main source and we should not be logging right next to it. Parks are the way to go.
