Brothers, There has been discussion recently regarding the restriction of day two trades at Woodside Fire. The so called "FYB" trades are being looked at as undesirable because of the staffing (mando) consequences. It has been suggested by a few members that the individual who is on-duty for another on day 2 be responsible for the mando list position of the person he is working for. This means if you are working a day 2 trade for someone, regardless of other circumstances, you will be potentially mandoed in his place. This petition seeks to gain support AGAINST this idea, leaving the regulation of day two trades to the individual captains and shifts, avoiding an unnecessary "across the board" rule that has implications and unintended consequences that go much farther than intended. It is the intent of this petition to avoid overly-restrictive staffing policies at WFPD preserving your rights to shift trade as traditionally allowed as a WFPD employee. Preserve your rights.
