Boys and girls should not be expect to wear school trousers during a heatwave, we as adults wouldn't wear thick clothing and shouldn't expect young people to something we wouldn't, it's not appropriate and very uncomfortable which wouldn't help learning. Shorts / pe kit should be an option for all

Boys should be allowed to wear dark greay short trousers in summer. My husband who is 73 years old has worn his shorts for four weeks, much too hot in long trousers.

All pupils should have freedom of choice in hot weather to wear shorts or skirts ..the same as if a pupil is a female called millie .if to her preference then she can request to be called Miles. As a boy can be called Oliver he can request to be called Olivia as to their preference. You see its a uniform for school .even army folk can wear shorts ..I do hope people get what I'm saying .it's all about freedom of choice .
