Dear Westlake and Waldorf Citizens, We are one community, and we stand united for "our" Westlake High School, "our" children, and "our" neighborhoods. A Liquor Establishment has been approved and will open a little over 500 feet from Westlake High School, and just feet away from a day care center, as well as several feet away from 2 churches and 3 daycare centers. Our homes are beautiful, and our neighborhoods are charming. We can't allow a liquor establishment to disturb the peace that we have invested in and enjoy. As we may have our views about businesses opening up and following legal guidelines, we must think safety and security first. Citizens were not adequately informed about this issue and we are now standing together to advocate against the decision because we feel it is the right thing to do. If you agree with our position and support our efforts, please sign this petition as we strive to have one strong voice together and advocate towards disallowing such businesses so close to a school. Like other schools, Westlake works hard to teach students the importance of staying away from danger-a liquor establishment simply doesn't make sense! One Voice, One Purpose...Together for "our" Community! -Westlake Advocates
