I believe West Tennessee should separate from Tennessee to form its own state. One of the reasons being that it is dragging down the state as a whole already. Its population growth is far behind Middle and East Tennessee. Ask anybody what the worst part of the state is and they will tell you West Tennessee. The landscape is very different from the rest of the state with mostly large fields, muddy creeks and rivers, and flat woods, while the rest of the state has beautiful mountains and cool mountain streams. The two largest cities, Memphis and Jackson have very high crime rates and give the rest of the state a bad name, and while those two cities are some of the worst, many of the small towns also have high crime rates. I also believe many residents of West Tennessee would be happy with this because they rarely ever visit the other parts of the state anyway.
