I am not in favor of this rezone at all. I purchased in carriage gate because of the school district. The children of meadowlane and central will be sent to three different high schools and be separated from their life long friends that they were with for 9 years. This is tearing communities and schools apart and decreasing home values. And these children are also being sent to lower rated schools. And in the case of carriage gate, heritage high is further away than mel hi. This goes against everything I have heard Dr. Blackburn himself say at other meetings. And the fact that only one proposal was made is ridiculous! There should have bee a mandatory of at least three proposals. West Melbourne is always getting thrown under the bus and it is not fair! If I wanted to pay less for my house or have my children in a Palm Bay school I would have done so.

We specifically chose to live in West Melbourne in an area zoned for Mel High - STRONGLY oppose proposed rezoning!

I am deeply disappointed with the proposed redistricting, and that only one solution has been offered. We purchased our home in Carriage Gate one year ago based on the school zones. This will certainly decrease our property value. Please leave our small community at Melbourne High, or at least propose more than one solution.

I don't want to have our neighborhood re-districted. This will only hurt my child Nd his chances for a good school. It will also depreciate my homes value. It will also drive new home sales down and have families move out to better schools of the proposed redistricting becomes a reality!

How about not transporting kids in from out of the area to meet quota’s and let the kids in the area attend the schools in our city!!!

Keep our zones the way they are. Our kids will suffer. Our property value will depreciate.

We bought a home 7 months ago because we were zoned for excellent schools for our children. We searched all over the area and knew we were paying a higher price because of the location and schools we are zoned for.
There has been only a single solution presented to alleviate overcrowding at Melbourne High School. To hold a vote on a single solution when no other solutions have been explored or even thought about is irresponsible. Maybe the lines don't need to constantly be shifting, and students displaced unnecessarily if preparation for rapid and vast growth is prepared for.

Soo many reasons to not support the boundary changes. This will impact many children and not be good for the communities. I oppose the boundary changes.

So many reasons to not support this poorly planned out proposal. Add to that the school board sent the facilities team to the town meetings, whom weren't able to address community concerns.

This rezoning should not take place. We purchased our home specifically so that our children would be able to go to good A ranked schools, not to have the rug pulled from under us and have them sent to C schools. This is especially uncalled for considering the number of beachside students bring bussed in from another district. Have them go to their proper school! I shudder to think what this will do to our property values. I already know of some people who have lost sales due to this

I do not think that it is fair to make the kids that are going to Meadowlane which is an amazing school be sent to Discovery which is not that good of a school and is out of my way and takes much longer to get to than Meadowlane. I refuse to send my son to Discovery!

No community of our size should have its youth in four different schools. No student should be forced to move INTO a lower rated school. The failing school should not be rewarded with our kids.

We moved less than 2 years ago to be in this school district! Keep Brandywine Estates in Melbourne High district!
