I was at the meeting on 28th Feb and after hearing many parents voice their concerns about the decision to reconfigure schools in SD#23 in Sept'18, fears and concerns which I too share , I was shocked and left with no sense of cofidence that the SD23 Board of Trustees feel that enough time and thought has been allocated into making this decision. My main concern is quite simply that MBSS CANNOT accommodate the number of students that are predicted to be enrolled within this school over the next few years. My son will be starting at MBSS in Sept 2021, and I can't even begin to imagine how my son who is not the most organised and confident of kids is going to cope in an enviroment where it's just going to be a sea of students wandering from portable to portable. I get very upset just thinking about it. This is not an ideal situation and from what I heard at the meeting, some of your Trustees if not all, feel the same way??Education is SO IMPORTANT, why should we have to accept any less than ideal?? Please, please re-consider your decision at least until there is money in the budget to fund building a new school to take the pressure off our one and only West Kelowna High School.

The amount of pressure and anxiety a child faces alone starting middle and high school is hard enough. To throw them in with this little amount of preparation is completely unfair let alone having the children miss out on all the final year Big kid activities

I don’t support this decision. It was made quickly and without proper consultation process.
It appears the board is aiming for a quick temporary fix rather then a long term solution.

I am so disappointed that the Trustees have not listened to the parents valid concerns about the pace of change. Why not introduce the proposed change in September 2019 allowing students to be prepared.

If you create a policy, then follow it and don't circumvent it in order to avoid a process that clearly would have affected the outcome.

Our arguments were many times based in logic. The Board responded by telling us our feelings weren't valid & pushing thtough with a very short-sighted, ill-conceived & irresponsible decision anyway. This deplorable decision needs better planning to say the least.
