Calling all disc golfers and adventures alike! Please join the effort in creating a disc golf course in the local West Chester area. We are currently exploring different plots of land and have focused our efforts to East Goshen Township Park.
For those unfamiliar to the sport, disc golf is inexpensive while providing low cost for installation & maintenance (usually donated). The sport also provides a low impact activity for people of all ages which enhances the value of the park to its surrounding community. In addition, regular players tend to take a pro-active approach in the course and the surrounding park.
Local disc golfers know that the closest courses can be found at Anson Nixon Park, Camp Sankanac, & Brandywine Creek State Park. One of which is closed for half of the year and the other at which you must pay for each visit. It's time to join together to create a centrally located disc golf course for this area that is available all year round!

The growth in support has caught the attention of the East Goshen Township Parks and Recreation department. I have secured a meeting with the board to present our proposal for the land use at the park. We are now drafting the formal project specifications to hand over during that discussion.

With the amount of disc golfer from around the city and the nearby countys a disc golf course or courses in Westchester would be great

I am a born and raised local to west Chester and have been golfing since my days at Henderson back in the early 2000's. It would be awesome to have a closer course for another option to play. It also would help grow the sport, and promote outdoor exercise to the people of West Chester.
EGP could definitely support a course. I have seen multiple practice baskets in yards around the township. I even make my own course there sometimes.
I am currently in contact with the Parks & Recreation Manager from East Goshen Township and our first item of business is to grow local support in order to show the Park Commission that there is enough interest.

Would be absolutely great to enjoy disc golf in our local greenspace.

We seriously need a spot closer to home. Tired of driving all the way out to pay just for a round. East Goshen is perfect for this.
