Impact of traffic for a 2000 student achool with no busing will be horrible

It is not appropriate to build such large non-traditional public school in the middle of residential communities. This will cause a lot of morning and afternoon traffic to the residents around this area. Such school should be build at the area that is off the main road, where does not impact community daily life so heavily.

1. Ideal location would be close to 55 near YMCA or 540 or 751 Hwy. Current proposed location off Yayes Store Rd. will mess up the traffic in the neighborhood and cause sever congestion and safety issues. 2. Why do just Cary/Wake residents taxes pay for the proposed school while everyone reaps benefits, all the surrounding counties should chip and pay for it. Also it's a for profit organization relying on resident taxes. I totally diagree. 75% of the profit should be spent to improve county school system.

Don’t support rezoning

This school proposal feels rushed, unnecessary, and caters only to the needs of a developer to sell homes in Chatham county....NOT THE BROADER community. How can this charter school be successful tucked away on a dead end road, without the attendance of wake county families? There are so many top performing schools surrounding this location, it's hard to imagine many Wake county families pulling their kids to attend this lesser known charter. If they gave us a high performing, STEM based charter instead---then I think we could all see the logic. IMO, I would much rather have a big community park similar to BOND PARK or golf course for all communities to enjoy. This is joint use land right? Not just chatham county use...

No more giving away public funds to support wealthy private businesses!

Traffic will be very bad with school

So many valid reasons listed why this location is a bad idea. I'm honestly shocked it has gotten this far. Residential location, car accidents in the making on Yates curve/hill, tax money given to a for profit school. We've just had several new schools open up near here. White Oak isn't even close to capacity. Please stop this bad idea!

I oppose the rezoning to allow Cardinal Charter Academy to open. First, Charter Schools funnel public funding to corporate parent companies. This money could be better used to improve teacher pay in our public schools. Second, the area where the school is proposed doesn't have anywhere near the capacity to handle the traffic that a 2000-student school would create. It would turn nearby neighborhoods like Weldon Ridge into thoroughfares.

This area is definitely not suited for a big school like that. Can't imagine the traffic resulting from 2000 cars...

Tax-payers' money to a for-profit entity? No thank you.

This location is not suited in any way for a school.

Do not build the school in a residential area. It will cause a lot of issues in terms of traffic/safety/etc in the neighborhoods nearby.

No need for a charter school in the midst of all the great public schools in the area. There have already been new schools built within the last few years. This will negatively impact already overburdened roads during peak hours.
