Future 3000 are a group of City of Melbourne residents whose mission is to improve the rights of inner-city residents with regard to future development in the CBD.
We oppose Melbourne City Council planning application (TP-2011-367) currently pending for the development of the site at 17-23 Wills Street. The application is for the part demolition and development of mutli storey building for use as a restaurant, hotel and apartments.
We oppose this planning application for the following reasons:
- This scenario would result in a significant loss of fresh air and daylight amenity for the residents of Wills Court whose apartments have windows and balconies facing south.
- The construction of a high rise building on this site would be difficult and highly disruptive to all residents within the Wills Street Strata group, particularly to residents whose apartments are located in Wills Court and have balconies and windows facing south.
- Construction on such a constrained site is very impractical; equipment such as cranes and hoists as well as vehicles servicing the site would cause blockages of Wills Street and or Singers Lane.
Please join us in opposing this planning application by signing our petition.
Thank you
