A new motorway junction is the last thing we need in the east Bristol fringe area. I oppose both sites for the proposed junction, as it will cost millions of pounds that would be better spent on public transport and improving the junctions on the A4174 ring road.

More roads = more congestion. We need improvements to public transport and cycling and walking routes in South Gloucestershire. And no more building on the Green Belt!

This new slip road will cause major traffic disruption to the A420 and also have a major impact to Crews Hole Road. The areas on these roads are housing and there are schools, parks etc the added traffic congestion will have a massive impact on peoples health and quality of life in those areas.

The junction is a complete waste of taxpayers money and will only increase traffic to the area. Plus will destroy wildlife habitats in the area.

This green belt is there to protect the villages and keep them just that. We don't want to be part of the urban sprawl. Also the proposal cuts right across Kings Lane which dates back to Anglo Saxon times and would be destroyed if this road goes ahead.

Ring road will become even more congested. Better public transport is needed to open up this area no more roads. Junction will open and then everyone will be "shocked" the ring road cant cope with that traffic. Building more roads just dont work they become gridlocked before even opening

Church Road and Lawrence Hill are already heavily congested and the air pollution can be smelt and tasted on some days. This new junction will do nothing to alleviate the congestion we in inner city east Bristol already suffer.

It currently takes me an hour to get from Stapleton road up to southmead hospital by bus. That's about 3.5miles, most of which is stuck in traffic bumper to bumper. For people who have to travel by public transport- who cannot cycle due to limited funds or disability- this is a painful journey. Your proposal does not acknowledge the significant traffic already passing through east Bristol- it is already a problem- we cannot afford to increase it further.

This is meant to be a Showcase Bus Route ... not sure how that can happen with that amount of traffic on top of the already ridiculous traffic along Church Road and the surrounding streets.
What about the safety of the children at the numerous schools that like that route? There must be pollution restriction implications?

Many of the narrow roads around east Bristol are already struggling with the heavy traffic (looking at you, Two Mile Hill). Don’t worsen this by making it into a transit route to an unneeded motorway junction.

Bristol city council, local Councillors and its Mayor should be taking a more high profile stance to combat these proposals particularly in view of the fact that Bristol's air quality is poor at the moment, and the plans are likely to add to the existing levels of poor air quality for local residents.

Let's not make any more disasterous mistakes of dividing satellite village communities, please! The thought of 40 tonne lorries and motorway traffic syphoning off at Pucklechurch and moving through this area is incredibly concerning, citing recent pollution concerns, traffic congestion and green space being carved up by BCC. The west option is far more credible considering the ring road has already been created, Lyde Green business, development and science park... There really is no quibble with this at all, it's got to be the west option!!
