There does not seem to have been nearly enough research into the possible effects of this development in the East of the city. In my opinion, the A420 cannot handle any more traffic flow at peak times, and more traffic during the day would just add to existing terrible air quality, congestion, and danger at already complex/ unsuitable crossings.

Our small road is off Bell Hill, and traffic is gridlocked from 7.30 most days into the city. Bus straight through to the city centre takes over an hour for two miles. Congestion is already beyond belief, and very unsafe at the best of times for cyclists, and walkers - motorists speed regularly when it's clear and pollution levels are well above the legal amount. Summerhill School playground has children playing each morning next to a grid locked road. This additional traffic flow would be devistating to an already deprived and under repristented area in the city.
1in10 people living in Lawrence Hill Bristol, only a mile down the road, die of air quality deseases each year, with such high levels now furtherly increasing, this could soon be St George too.

A very short sighted solution to Bristol's transport issues. The area is already congested and the air polluted. Invest in public transport in and around the city and invest in education to help change people's minds about their cars don't increase the number of cars on the roads

Roads in and around the Kingswood are consistently congested and disgustingly polluted, especially in commuter hours. I started running 5 miles into Bristol centre from Kingwood because it was faster than the bus! Unfortunately the pollution is exceptional on church road and I often have breathing difficulties running by a primary school (which I hear has good Ofsted ratings but will no doubt be affected by the pollution that is noticeable bad for adults let alone children). A new slip road cannot be supported by this area - it's very obvious. It's abhorrent that the council have done nothing about the current situation DESPITE having a whole transport department (and their primary job to fix these issues), particularly given the significant health risks and costs posed to children and adults in the area. I wrote to South Glos council twice expressing my concern with congestion and I was told by their Transport Manager a series of reckless and inaccurate statements! I was first of all told that no one has complained about congestion in the area (judging by this petition - people have almost certainly raised concern), that it probably isn't South Glos's fault (the blame game - its not us, its the bus company or Bristol council - now shuuuwww away) and with new initiatives they have launched, I should be grateful to them (they referenced the metro to Cribbs Causeway - an already well serviced area - and yes the initiative that would be brought in over 5 miles away from where I live, in the opposite direction of town for me...) The situation would be a comedy act if it didn't have such severe consequences. In addition to all this, if it wasn't bad enough, the council tax and house prices (for any "house" or small cupboard you can get in this area) have doubled. Its a lose/lose situation in everyway for the people living in and around the Kingwood area.

I live in St George and the air pollution is very noticeable there it would be interesting to see the results of an air quality review. I urge it!

The A420 is congested enough already through Kingwood into Lawrence Hill.
This would bring gridlock.

Please refer to Local paper ( The Post) who refers to Church Road as the most dangerous place to live in Uk due to the death rate caused by drivers not to mention the air quality is already so poor in the area according to the data recorded

I have lived in this area since the 70,s. This area needs more reliable public transport to get cars off the road - not building more motorway to accommodate cars. - think of people's health first please

St George is already very very congested with traffic. We have increasing numbers of young families in the area; babies & young children should not have to breathe in commuter fumes. We are a community, not just a main, clogged up road!

Church road is already dangerously busy and very congested, with traffic causing high air pollution for pedestrians. I walk down this road daily and regularly have near misses with cars going through red lights. More traffic will only increase air pollution and accidents, making the shops on church road less pleasant to use and harming the community .

Church Road is already really busy most of the time and especially at rush hour. It’s not healthy or sustainable and the new junction would surely only make it worse.
