What is the point of the WEP if it cannot define which group it stands for or WHY? Sex selective abortion, FGM, honour killings, rape, the sex trade, domestic violence, wage inequality, harassment, stalking, and on and on and on happens to women because of their SEX. The system of structural oppression and erroneous beliefs that is used to justify this is called GENDER. We cannot tackle sex inequality unless we can tackle gender. It's the problem not the solution. We can't opt out of our sex, we're female whether we like it or not. 'Cis' is demeaning and renders women a sub category of their own sex, in an attempt to accomodate males, this is demeaning and insulting. Women are female. Transwomen are male. This is not hatred, it's fact. Whilst I have every sympathy with people who are trans, their fight is not women's fight, their needs are not our needs. It is OK for women to say, this is OURS, this is what WE need, and to say no. Women's rights are fundamental, and we need them. Please stand up for them.

Unless we are able to name ourselves as a class, we can neither protect nor legislate for our rights. Sex-based rights are vitally important for our safety, dignity and opportunities.

Women's oppression is sex-based. Gender is oppression. Aligning with genderists is aligning with misogyny. Define woman without resorting to sexist tropes. Biology is the only factor that matters in determining what rights women ought to have. Female foetuses aren't aborted in the hundreds of thousands because they *identify* as girls. They are aborted because of their sex. Women are the primary focus of men's anger and sexual deviance entirely because of our biology. We are susceptible to their need to control our reproductive rights. Rights that we need because of our female biology.
Men do not gestate and give birth to babies. Men do not breastfeed. Men do not menstruate. Men do not experience the plethora of medical negligence handed down to women on the basis that women are hysterical idiots who exaggerate their pain.
All of the sexism in the world didn't begin because we identified as women. Men IDENTIFIED US. They did so in reality and in the language they used to dehumanise and dismiss us. They marked us both in speech and as targets for their domination.
Show some class analysis and stand by women and girls. Please.

I don't think many people are aware that trans radicals try to remove women's right to ask for a female doctor for intimate exams or to have men-free space in shelters for victims of abuse. Women's rights need to be protected!

Brighton branch leader and local council candidate 2019. Sex and gender should not be conflated, the former is a material fact, the latter is a social system which creates inequality between the sexes. Until male violence against women is eradicated, female only spaces are essential for women’s safety. I call on all trans activists to focus on ending male violence against females.

Women are oppressed on the basis of their biology. Protections need to be provided on the same basis.

This is very important for WEP to be very clear about. Any changes to the definitions of women in the Equality Act would seriously impact sex based rights

We must protect our sex based protections and the Women's Equality Party must take a lead on this or it will not be representing women.

Member of WEP. It is not transphobic to say that the needs and rights of women and transwomen are not the same. Women should be able to organise and campaign in their own interests. We still have much work to do, and this will be futile if women as a category includes men.

I'm a founding member and fully support these assertions, but it's sad that these even need petitioning to the WEP :(

I stand with the women of WEP to defend women’s sex based rights.
Women and girls are uniquely subjugate globally because of their sex. In order to work to over come this we must be able to name the problem. Sexism can not be fought if we can not name our sex.
I stand for single sex services, the collation of sex based data, the protection of women’s sports and the right for women to self organise to achieve these aims.

I joined the party as a founding member and branch officer. I hope the party can stand firm in its promise to centre women. We must not be silent in the face of this trojan horse of misogyny. This is NOT transphobia, this is protecting women.
