The Liberal Democrat culture spokesman, Peter Black AM, has invited the poet Patrick Jones to insult Jesus Christ in the National Assembly If the event goes ahead the militant atheist will read his poems - which insult Jesus Christ and call for an end to Christian worship - in Committee Room 24 of the Assembly at 12 noon on Thursday 11th December.
Black has gone out of his way to show contempt for Christians in Wales. We seek a united front from the Church in Wales condemning this provocative act by Peter Black AM. If you are in agreement that the proposed event should not go ahead then please sign the petition:
A thousand signatures just popped up on the screen and I honestly can hardly believe it because who knew this would strike a nerve so fast. It is just wild to see so many people actually care about what is happening in the Assembly even if my head is spinning a bit trying to process all the notifications.

I have been reading through all the messages coming in and the sheer amount of frustration people feel about this event in Committee Room 24 is honestly just staggering. It is maddening that we even have to point out why hosting this kind of mockery in an official space is so completely wrong but here we are and I am still tracking down every possible contact at the Assembly to make sure they know exactly how many of us are watching.

I really never thought this would take off like it has when I first sat down to write it but here we are and honestly it feels like people are finally noticing how disrespectful this whole thing with the Assembly is. It is wild to see so many people who feel just as frustrated as I do about this situation and it gives me a lot of hope that we might actually get someone to listen to us.

Ridiculous. If he wants to read trash like that he can find a street corner not the assembly. Shame on him.

This is a disgrace. Our tax money shouldnt be used to pay for people to mock our faith in government buildings. Cancel this event now.

The assembly is supposed to represent us all. This is just trying to cause trouble and hurt people. Very sad to see this happening here.

Absolutely appalled. Does peter black have nothing better to do than alienate half the country? Keep religion out of his nasty agenda.
