Dear Mr.Olechowski and Mr. Esposito;

We are very much hoping that you will reconsider the application for weekend work permits that has been put before our community board. This project is for our school, which is for the Williamsburg Northside Schools – Lower School Division, a pillar of the community since 1999. The school has grown with the neighborhood offering a rich and wonderful learning environment that celebrates children and challenges them. Currently our program is “bursting” out of its home on 70 Havemeyer and needs this new building for the opening of school in September 2014. The entire community has worked extremely hard to make this project happen! Our school serves 350 families, 95+% from this community. It also employs 100+ people.

The weekend work would add a critical 50 days to the construction schedule. The immediate area has limited neighbors as the BQE is on one side, across the street is a stalled development that is unoccupied, right next door on N 7th Street is an empty building. We are on excellent terms with the two occupied adjoining properties and they consent to us working on Sundays.
