Webster, you Must take action to protect black students in your Conservatory program -- no more long, diplomatic emails. We want to see change.

Theatre should be a place of inclusivity. Black Lives Matter. Black talent matters. Black performers matter.

We can do better. Webco needs to put in the work to grow and support our BIPOC community.

I’m not a WebCo student but I know many students and faculty there, and this is a great plan that would help so many people!

I am a partner of someone who went to UAB and experienced systemic racism in many ways. She was cast multiple times as a role meant for black women. There was one POC in her class and 0 representation at Webster.

As another PoC graduate of the conservatory, I echo all these thoughts and also hope the same work happens in the DTSM program as well.

I have seen so many of my friends who are POC pushed away from this program. The bare minimum is no longer acceptable and change needs to happen to help POC THRIVE, not just survive the Conservatory. Stop praising the straight white male

These stories do not surprise me. The time has come to not just be better, but to do better. Thank you for putting a spotlight on this issue.
