I was sitting at my computer when I got an email many of you probably also got about the clothing options for Deerfield highschool gym class next year. I read the first option of renting a stranded outfit that is tailored more towards the male physique and didn't like it so I read the next one which said as a student I can go on Deerfields online store and buy gym clothes that I might find better suit me so I went browsing and found a pair of shorts I liked and I looked up at the price and it was 30 dollars. I really don't have 30 bucks to shell out on a pair of pants for gym when I have some that I own that I got for 10. I should be able to wear my own gym clothes to gym if you agree sign this petition and I will try to get the principal and the athletic department to review and strongly consider what we're asking. Thanks!

I have been hearing from so many of you who find the prices for these mandatory clothes completely unreasonable. It feels wrong that we are forced to spend money on specific items when we already have gear that works just fine.

Seeing this kind of momentum confirms that I am not the only student feeling frustrated by these unnecessary costs. It means a lot to know that so many of you are tired of being forced to pay for clothes that do not even fit us well.

the material on these uniforms is so itchy and way too short it makes me feel super gross while trying to workout. let us use our own stuff.
bruh just let us wear what we want its gym class not a fashion show
Even as a dance student I still value the ideals of being able to wear your own clothes to gym. As Seniors we will not have a need for these clothes at any other point in our life. So they're either cheaper or we get to wear what we want.
As if an armed police officer, stored internet history, and trackers in ID's isn't even control over our lives, Big Brother is giving us a uniform and making us wear a uniform and requiring us to pay for it ourselves.
30 bucks for gym shorts is insane when i have perfectly good ones at home. nobody is going to wear these things outside of class anyway so its a total waste of money.

They told me that we were getting new gym clothes because what the girls were wearing was inappropriate, but the shorts that I bought for the uniform are actually worse than anything I would ever wear. They have a slit running up the side all the way to the waistband and I feel uncomfortable wearing them without spandex or leggings underneath.
