The United Kingdom is in a quandry.. it is on the path of creating the conditions for social unrest by taxes that are unfairly reducing the living standards of the worst off in our society, by removing employment from the very sector least responsible for the deficit, whilst encouraging discontent by obscenely rewarding those that contribute little to society with massive salaries and wealth accumulation. Over the past decades the wealth gaps between sectors of society has continued to widen, much of the new wealth distributed the result, not of creation, but of movement from ordinary wage and salary earning citizens to opportunist speculators, masquerading as "entrepreneurs ". With wealth so concentrated I petition for a one off wealth tax, which I propose should be a tax on all assets, excluding the value on the prime residence.The start point should be at a level high enough to not effect the day to day standard living, I suggest 2 million and the rate at a non-punishing rate, I suggest 3%. The tax could be self declaring, with high penalties for under declaration...perhaps doubling and trebling for 20% under and 50% under declaring. Please join me and get our Nation back on track by a one off large contribution to our ailing economy, whilst allowing the rich to socially contribute to a fairer society.
