With over 200 horses in the Charlesworth area alone, it is becoming impossible to use the road through the centre of the Village due to the volume and the speed of the traffic. Please sign this petition if you are in agreement to proposals being put forward for new signage to make vehicle drivers ‘horse aware’ and to implement measures to ask the Council to slow the traffic on the roads in the area making it easier for Riders to access the Bridleways safely. The signs should be smart but convey to the motorist, that the horses have right of way and that they can be skittish; hence a need for consideration, anticipation and patience while driving in, through or around Charlesworth. At the present there are no signs advising drivers how to behave or of the priority that should be given to horses on the road.
